Full Transparency — Why I Started Baby Ball & the Texas Diamondbacks

I started Baby Ball and the Texas Diamondbacks for a simple reason: I want to give my son the best, most authentic baseball journey possible. In building that path for him, I believe I can help do the same for other boys and families along the way.

Yes, this is personal. It begins with my son. That is exactly why it matters so much to me. My goal is to build something honest, developmental, and rooted in what is actually best for young players and their families—not just what looks good on the surface.

I come from a unique baseball background. I have seen and experienced elite levels of play. I have learned from Hall of Fame coaches, played alongside future Hall of Famers, competed for historic programs, and was raised around the game by a former Major Leaguer and NCAA multi-champion.

I have also seen the other side of baseball. I have played for bad coaches, poor leaders, and people who represented the worst parts of the game. I have seen the best baseball has to offer, the worst baseball has to offer, and just about everything in between. I grew up during a time when the old game and the new game were colliding, and that perspective shaped the way I see coaching, culture, player development, and leadership.

That is a big part of why I care so deeply about doing this the right way. The mission is not only to build better players. It is to help build better baseball journeys for boys and their families from the very beginning.
